Before I could ask a woman to be seen,

WHY I DO THIS WORK
I’ve been photographing people for almost thirty years. I opened my Beaverton studio in 2020.
Every session still feels like a gift — and not because of the photos. Somewhere in it, a woman sees herself. Sometimes it’s peeking at the back of the camera. Sometimes it’s the mirror while her hair is being done. Sometimes it’s weeks later. It doesn’t run on a schedule and it doesn’t look the same on any two women. But I know it when I see it.
I’m not standing on the other side of that handing it down. I’m still learning to see myself too. It’s why this work means what it does to me. Whatever I’m asking you to do, I’m doing it alongside you. That’s the gift you give me when you trust me to photograph you.

♥︎ As an intern for world renowned photographer Arnold Newman, I learned how it’s not about the tools or technology, it’s about your eye and your heart.
♥︎ As someone who lost my mom and brother in a span of 2 years, I know that your photos only get more valuable over time.
♥︎ As a 1.5 generation immigrant from the Philippines, I know what it’s like to be different and to defy the beauty standards to find your own.
♥︎ As someone who went through a painful 10 year marriage and subsequent divorce where I lost my identity, I know how to define who I am and what I want.
♥︎ As a retail stylist at a high end women’s clothing store, I chose pieces for women that flattered their bodies.
♥︎ As a bridal stylist, I helped women “say YES to the dress” when they felt the most like themselves.

♥︎ I met Aaron on a dating app I joined reluctantly and stayed on exactly long enough.
♥︎ I look for hearts in the clouds. When I find one I feel held by the people I love that are no longer here.

She has an ability to find something special in everyone and everything and to capture that moment of authentic self-expression. My session with her was like a date with a best friend.
