NEXT STEPS BEFORE YOUR PHOTO SHOOT:
SCHEDULE AND INITIAL PHONE CHAT (choose/finalize session date)
If you have submitted your application, I will be sending you an email with a scheduler and payment system to confirm your appointment. Only the $399 is due up front. Please note once we schedule this, it is very difficult to reschedule so please triple check those schedules before booking your photographer and makeup artist.
Marjorie will be texting and calling you within the next few days to talk about what you wrote on your application and see if you have any questions!
30 MINUTE OUTFIT CONSULTATION FACETIME OR ZOOM (one week before appointment)
Once your $399 fee is paid and your session is booked, Marjorie will set up a 30 minute outfit consultation on Facetime while you have your clothing laid out. We will have a “try on session” to finalize what outfits you will be doing. I do this so that I can prepare, brainstorm ideas and search for any accessories or additional looks that I may have for you on your session day.
PREP FOR YOUR PHOTO SHOOT
I will make sure to email you instructions/directions after our outfit consultation. Please let me know if you do not receive them.
The basics: make sure you hydrate the week of your session. Do not do any drastic changes to your hair (or if you do, MAKE SURE YOU LOVE it or reschedule). Also, don’t forget to shave where you do not want unwanted hair to show (clients sometimes forget face and arm). Also, make sure your nails are done - when in doubt, go with timeless colors like mauve. Put clothing on hangers with jewelry so that you can just take them from your car and take it right to the hanging rack at the studio. Wear button up or loose neck for hair & makeup - something cute you don’t mind being in video for (for behind the scenes).

Make sure it’s still YOU. Even if it’s a fantasy or aspirational outfit IT SHOULD STILL FEEL LIKE YOU (and only you can decide that)n goes here

Something BLACK & LONG SLEEEVE.
You can’t go wrong with black and long sleeve. Try going for blouses that have “flair”, feminine details like lace, ruffle, collars, interesting cuts, textures like leather or sequin or sheer/mesh. This is the time to think about drama. The camera plays things down, so dare to wear sexier or bolder styles. If black is not your thing, go monochromatic (one color).

Something FANCY.
Think of what you would wear if you were going to the Met Gala, the Oscars, a black tie event, a New Year’s Eve party. There are places to rent gowns like this or maybe there’s a gown that you wore once that will now be immortalized in its glory. Please note I recommend this should still be a long sleeve or 3/4 sleeve option.

Something OUT OF THE BOX/FANTASY/COSTUME
I believe that all of us have a creative inside of us. Is there something that you think might be a little quirky or weird but you freakin love it anyway? You’ve come to the right photographer. I can’t wait to hear all about it.
Do you participate in Fairy or Cosplay conventions? Do you have a Steampunk or Flapper outfit that you love to wear on Halloween and wish you could wear it all year? What about that mask or headpiece you love? Now is the time to bring out your inner secret self.

Something with TEXTURES, EDGES, & INTERESTING DETAILS.
If you have an outfit or accessory that stopped you in your tracks and you had to buy it because you just couldn’t continue life without it, show me!

Something that tells a STORY.
Do you play an instrument, create art, or have a hobby that has a visual component. Do you own a very beautiful object that you would love to be photographed with (a car, a jacket, a piece of jewelry)… something that just screams “you”.

Can I just take a moment to thank you, I am honored that you chose me to have this experience. I am grateful to you not only for trusting me to be your photographer but for going along on this journey with me, yes it is also a journey for me because EVERY SINGLE WOMAN that I photograph allows me to see my own beauty, when she allows me to show her the light that I see.
If you are nervous, it’s perfectly normal. Your desire for something more won over the fear. Just remember this. I am so proud of you and I am beyond excited to show you how beautiful you are. I truly believe that what I offer is something that will only get more valuable over time.

Frequently Asked Questions About the 40 Over 40 Experience

The initial cost to participate is $400, which is due in full to secure your appointment. This includes professional hair & makeup service, your photography session with 4 outfits, and a private reveal appointment. You will also be featured in a magazine along with the other women in the project. We will also have a celebration party of some sort at the culmination of the project round (TBA).
You will most likely want all your images, which are available for additional purchase. That is my goal! I want you to fall in love with yourself either for the first time or reconnect with that inner goddess again. Don’t stress, you don’t have to choose anything until your reveal appointment! What you purchase is entirely up to you.

Let’s be real, you will most likely want more than one image. Think about it, you will have invested so much time and effort and you will feel amazing and want to remember how you felt this day.
I promise you I am not a salesy high pressure person, I just know from all my past clients that you will love them all and I want you to know that up front.
My packages start at $1200 and go up from there. My most commonly purchased package includes a beautiful folio collection of 20 images for $3000. Remember, what you purchase is entirely up to you.
The reveal session is the time for me to HELP you decide, and the rule is you only buy what you wholeheartedly LOVE.

While you are on Pinterest, feel free to create one to share with me so that I can see what your dream session looks like. In this case, a picture really is worth a thousand words!
