CALAre you a woman in your 40s, 50s or 60+?

I am inviting 40 women over 40 who would like to empower themselves through a portrait session. I turned 48 this year and want to continue with round 2 of the 40 Over 40 Photoshoot Experience.

This is your chance to capture this moment in time for you and for your loved ones. It’s the ultimate self care experience where you will get to know and see yourself in a whole new light.

You will be amazed how having a photo that you love will truly inspire you and allow yourself to be seen again. And when you take up space, you make room for others to follow your lead.

Enjoy professional hair & makeup, personal styling consultation, and your own photo shoot, to be featured in a magazine and celebration. at the culmination of the project.

Hi I’m Marjorie Dizon, portrait photographer in Beaverton Oregon. In 2022 I set out to photograph 40 Women Over 40 and it has become a passion project for me as I meet amazing women from all walks of life with their stories and dreams. As I turn 48, I realize this project is a mirror to my own journey to self love.

Everything starts with loving yourself. I found that most women hadn’t been professionally photographed in 10 years, maybe more. Here’s what our first round of 40 women have learned and discovered together.

When you have a beautiful photo of yourself that version of you becomes imprinted in your mind and you carry yourself differently.
When you take the time and effort to do something for yourself, you honor that light within and it extends to all parts of your life: your business, your goals, your relationships…
Age is just a number! Don’t buy into the hype that there are “rules” or “categories” being over 40 puts you in. That gorgeous photo of you? Evidence.
Life is too short. You never know what could happen so celebrate who you are now in this moment in your life.
It’s never too late to start that dream. In this digital world, having a beautiful photo of yourself puts you on the map and lets you get seen in the best light.
It is NOT vain to post photos of yourself and share your story and dare to share your dreams. It gives permission for others to do the same. You never know who is watching you! Just be you! Go for it!
Fear is a liar. Get past those fears. Face them head on. Find out your “why” first. This way your desire becomes greater than your fears.

THE 40 OVER 40 PHOTOSHOOT EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:

1.

Consultation

We’ll discuss all the details involved with a session including wardrobe, hair & makeup, what to bring, how to prepare and everything else you’ll need to know about your special day! You will have the chance to let me know of any special requests or how you dream of being photographed.

2.

Professional Hair & Makeup

On the morning of the photo shoot, you’ll be introduced to our professional hair & makeup artist. We’ll consult with you on how you wish to wear your hair and makeup. Whether you want to stay more natural, or go full glam, it’s all up to you!

3.

Guided Studio Photo Shoot

I’ll be directing you every step of the way so you won’t need to worry about a thing. Our job is to help you feel comfortable and enjoy the experience. You’re amazing and no detail is too small to make this a perfect day for you.

4.

Private Reveal Session

You’ll be invited back for your REVEAL session within 2 weeks after your photo shoot. During the REVEAL I will present to you your gorgeous portraits and you will have the opportunity to buy any portrait or collection of your choice. Portrait collections start at $1200.

5.

Feature in our Magazine

At the end of this project, I’ll select some of your fabulous portraits to be featured with your story in our 40 over 40 magazine special printed edition and you will receive a complimentary copy of this inspirational magazine.

6.

Admission to our Celebration Party (TBA)

You and the 39 other ladies in the project will be invited as a special guest to a celebration party at the culmination of the project.

40/40 promotional session fee only $400

Session fee includes professional hair & makeup, 2 hour photo session, inclusion in magazine, and celebration party ticket. It does not Include any additional products or digital files. Products and digital images can be purchased separately at your image reveal.

As women, as girls, we are taught to be what other people are expecting of us. We are taught to show up with a certain look or show up with a certain set of behaviors or show up with a certain intelligence or lack of intelligence and it's our job to be seen as the things they expect and the hardest thing about becoming your own woman is learning how to be who you are and show up in that in a really authentic way. That has been my challenge for this experience is to let myself be seen in a way that reflects who I am genuinely and authentically without the guard that happens when I can just be what someone else thinks that they should see.

I received a diagnosis of Parkinson’s a few short months ago. You’d think I’d be sinking into despair at the thought, but I am actually more energized and determined to proceed with my life of promise and possibilities! I am more alive now than I’ve been in years, attuned to my inner self and desires! No, this is a time to celebrate and continue dreaming!! It is not a time to give up! This is why I want to participate in this project, to show, as C.S. Lewis said, “You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.

When Marj showed me the back of the camera and I saw some of the shots that she had taken of me I got really emotional because I haven't seen myself that way in what seems like forever. I don't have time to do the beautiful hair and makeup that they did and pose in the way that she helped me pose so I got really emotional. Time right now isn't something that i have much of and it felt really special and it's something I'll be able to show my kids down the road and they'll be able to remember me that way also.

We don't think of ourselves enough to just have a portrait of us for ourselves. The main reason I'm having a portrait taken is that right now I feel healthy and I want to have a picture of me for my family for my memorial. I was just at a friend's funeral and it was a lovely picture of her - a portrait of her - and I wanted something similar for myself.
